Optanik

Features

The session, the device, the patch, and the automation. Same object.

Most stacks split remote desktop, RMM, patching, and “if this then that” into separate products. Optanik keeps them together — for Windows, Linux, and macOS.

Workspaces

One place to run the fleet

  • Named workspaces with their own URL, users, branding, and devices.
  • Custom login path so each customer or team has a clean front door.
  • Member invites, roles, and shared access — no shared passwords.
  • Light and dark mode, workspace colors, logos, and login branding.

Agents

They show up and stay there

  • Native agents for Windows, Linux, and macOS from one Agent Install page.
  • One-line install and uninstall per OS, with an onboarding code that drops the machine into the right workspace.
  • Windows agent runs as a service at boot — before anyone signs in — so you can reach a PC at the login screen after reboot.
  • Auto-update across all three platforms, plus a manual “Update agent” push.
  • Restart the agent remotely when a tunnel gets stuck, without a truck roll.

Unattended remote access

Not a “please click Accept” app

  • Remote Control from the device page over a secure session.
  • Full VDI desktops, individual application streams, and URL sessions through the device network.
  • Join-session links so a second technician can come in without sharing the host keyboard.
  • Ctrl-Alt-Del / secure attention, view-only vs control, and a loading experience that tells the operator what is happening.
  • Auto login after reboot so a machine can come back to a signed-in desktop.
  • Remote PowerShell on Windows and SSH on Linux/macOS from the same device list.

Devices

A fleet you can actually manage

  • Live inventory: name, hostname, platform, IPs, online/offline, last check-in, agent version, hardware, and notes.
  • CPU, memory, and disk utilization, with a high-utilization banner when something is on fire.
  • Per-device mute for utilization noise.
  • Reboot the computer, restart the agent, or open Remote Control from the same action row.
  • Installed apps list, search, and “browse for .exe” when the catalog is not enough.
  • OS patches on the device itself: scan, see pending vs installed, jump into fleet patch policy.

Groups

Live membership, not a copied snapshot

  • Built-in OS groups (Windows, Linux, macOS) that stay in sync with the fleet.
  • Custom groups you name and fill — servers, laptops, a customer site, a lab.
  • Automations, reports, and patching target the group as it exists today.

Patch management

Looks like a real RMM because it is one

  • Fleet overview across Windows, Linux, and macOS: compliance score, fully patched vs pending vs not scanned, reboot required.
  • Per-OS policy: soak days, skip preview/feature releases, auto-install inside a window, daily / weekly / monthly / manual.
  • Third-party application patching with allow / defer / ignore per app.
  • Scan all, install eligible now, and drill into a device’s patch list with status detail and logs.
  • Compliance grades (Healthy / Fair / Needs work / Critical) with a 95% target — and a notification when the fleet grade moves.

Automation

Detect, fix, verify, escalate

  • IF / THEN workflows, not one-shot “if CPU then email.”
  • Scheduled jobs: once, every N minutes, hourly, daily, weekly, monthly.
  • Scope: any device, one or more groups, or specific machines.
  • Nested AND / OR conditions with duration holds (“CPU above 90% for 10 minutes”).
  • Sequential steps: actions, waits that persist, and CHECK branches with YES / NO paths.
  • Actions: notify, scripts (PowerShell or SSH), reboot / restart / update agent, services, processes, patches.
  • Create Alert is task-level — one workspace notification (and one Telegram), not a flood per endpoint.
  • Cooldown and max executions so a noisy condition cannot loop all night.
  • Run now, duplicate, enable/disable, and execution history with step-by-step results.

Starter templates: High CPU, High Memory, High Disk Usage, Device Offline, Service Recovery, Critical Patch, Reboot Required, Agent Update, Nightly Patch Scan, Weekly Patch Install.

Reports

Something you can hand to a customer

  • Dashboard, Device Health, Patch Compliance, Hardware Inventory, Software Inventory, and Availability.
  • Custom reports scoped to a group.
  • Export PDF, CSV, or Excel.
  • Scheduled email reports so leadership gets the pack without logging in.

Software fleet

Who still has Chrome 120?

  • Inventory of what is installed, on which hosts, and which versions.
  • Open a version to see every device that has it.

Notifications

Reach people where they already are

  • In-app bell: Down Detector, back online, high utilization, patch grade changes, automation.
  • Browser desktop notifications, with a per-device utilization mute.
  • Telegram bot with toggles for down, up, utilization, patches, and automation.
  • Email via workspace SMTP and templates (invites, reports, and automation mail).

One machine is enough to feel the difference.
